19/March 8 Odd Things
I think the really odd thing about Damon being on this deployment is my reaction to the house. I was stoked, thinking I would clean the house like nobody's business. I'm talking about dusting places never dusted, walls painted and all that boy crap finally put in its place. But then I walk around the house and look at the items he's left and the places he's left them and it is so hard for me to part with the jeans he wore the day he left that are still on the couch, the surprise card he left me in the bathroom or the books he studied from. These items remind me of his presence and once they are put away, I will not have daily reminders of the fact that he lives here. The best is when cleaning streaks hit and I am going good-- then I pick up a shirt to check if it's clean or dirty. If it smells like Damon, I'm reminded of the hugs, the kisses, the smell of his face close to mine, the touch of his hand on mine, etc.
Those are the odd things.
